Our Choice Is Love, Not Fear

– Posted in: Beca’s Blog

It’s an interesting term: Sheltering in place.

What place? That is the question.

Where in our thinking are we sheltering? What are we believing? What are we accepting as truth?

Are we allowing ourselves to fall into this current pandemic of fear?

Because that’s what this is. Fear attempting to force us into separation. Shelter in place.

But are we sheltering in fear or in love? It’s our choice.

And as we choose love, we are not separate.

We see evidence everywhere of people choosing love. People are expressing kindness, going out of their way to help others. Refusing to respond in fear or resentment, but instead responding with love and understanding.

As in all things that we wish to change in the world, it has to begin within ourselves.

So, how can we make use of this time?

How can we help people who are not able to work?

How can we gather people together in a way that does not go against the laws of the land?

How can we share that all of God’s creation works together in harmony in ways that people understand and accept?

How can we not give in to fear, but instead respond with absolute faith that what we see is not what is going on?

If we want this fear pandemic to be over (and never return), we have to look for, expand, share, all those invisible things that our senses do not see, but our heart knows to be true.

We can see the results of the power of love, and what happens when we bring the light of the Truth to every situation.

Yes, what is going on right now will change the world. It will never be the same.

Shall we make it a change for the better? Or allow it to slip further into isolation and apathy for the needs of others?

Yes, power appears to begin at the top and filter down to the rest of us. But that’s wrong. We can stop accepting that as true because it isn’t.

It only feels that way when we let fear take over.

We have been told, “For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.”*

To be released from the fear that is holding the world within its grasp, we have to say no to participating in any form of hatred, fear, despair, unkindness, selfishness, or greed.

  • There is enough for everyone.
  • Love is the power that rules us.
  • Kindness drives our actions.
  • These are affirmations. Say them along with me, all day, every day. This is how we defeat the messages of fear.

If we keep these Truths at the forefront of our thoughts, we will shift our own perceptions. As we do this, we’ll see solutions we never saw before. We’ll see the light that is already present. We’ll feel the shackles of fear dropping off of us and others.

Refuse to be separated and isolated, even while home alone. Refuse to respond in fear.

Yes. Let’s let the world shift. But not to where fear would take us. But to where love leads the way.

This could all be the beginning of the world that we all want to live within.

Heaven is not a place, it’s a state of mind, and a point of view. We can find that now, but we will have to do it together.

    We can. And we will.

We can, “Rise in the strength of Spirit to resist all that is unlike good. God has made man capable of this, and nothing can vitiate the ability and power divinely bestowed on man.”*

I believe in the power of love. And I know that you do too. Together we rise.
